Jewelry Guide - Always Wear Fabulous Jewelry

Jewelry includes all beautiful or attractive ornamental objects that are made with gems and other precious metals. Jewelry made with less valuable materials comes under the category of costume jewelry. Mostly every kind of material can be added to make an attractive jewelry. Jewelry is available in various pretty designs. Both men and women like to wear jewelry on different occasions like wedding party, birthday parties or some other functions.

Some common types of jewelry include anklets, armlets, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, rings (engagement rings, wedding rings, class rings), toe rings and nose-jewels. Brooches, belly chains, head ornaments come under the category of less common types of jewelry. People can express their love by presenting jewelry to their dear one. Common metals that are used in jewelry include gold, platinum, or silver. Generally sterling silver is used in wonderful jewelry.

Some gems like diamonds, rubies, sapphires or emeralds are used in designer jewelry. Other commonly used materials include glass, wood, seashells, natural clay, or plasticine clays. People usually like to add some beads in the jewelry. Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and belts are included in beaded jewelry.

Jewelry is a wonderful outfit that really suits everybody. Always try to wear a simple jewelry because simplicity is the best policy of life. Dont try an ankle bracelet or a toe ring with office outfit. Replace your jewelry after some time because old-fashioned jewelry makes you obsolete.

Nowadays Internet shopping is in trend that enables you to buy jewelry online. Internet shopping is the best time saving as well as cost saving factor. You can also get some discounts by purchasing superb jewelry online. Internet offers some decent jewelry gifts, which makes your dear one happy.

Suzuki Aerio, 2006: The Weekly Driver

Suzuki Aerio, 2006: The Weekly Driver

In January, 2004, the automotive industry arrived at another unique plateau. For the first time, the average price of a new car in the United States surpassed $30,000. Ironically, it was also only a few years ago, the same amount designated the minimum amount of a luxury car.

It's also likely a safe assumption that many car buyers still can't afford a $30,000 vehicle. Suppose, for example, a new car buyer has only $15,000 to spend. What's available? And what's a prudent purchase in the price range?

One good choice is the 2006 Suzuki Aerio SX. The 4-door economy wagon has a lot to offer. With every available option, the vehicle's price is only slightly more than half the national average of a new vehicle.

My test drive for the week was the four-cylinder, 155-horsepower Aerio with a five-speed manual transmission. The vehicle's standard features alone warrant a long look for economy shoppers: air conditioning, power windows/locks/mirrors, tilt steering wheel, AM/FM/6-CD changer and split folding rear seats. For the first time in 2006, Antilock brakes (ABS) are standard throughout the line.

But the Aerio offers a lot more -- surprisingly quick acceleration to superior cargo room, substantial head room to an estimated 30 mpg on the freeway. The Aerio is available in three models and with more than a dozen configurations, the base sedan ($13,999) to the SX with All-Wheel-Drive and a premium option package ($16,999).

My vehicle featured the nice exterior color of Tech Blue Metallic, complemented by a black cloth interior with a silver-toned instrument console. The car zipped around town, shifted smoothly and had a little "attitude" despite its lowly status an entry level wagon.

The SX model has 15-inch alloy wheels as a standard feature, but the larger wheels are an option for the standard 14-inch wheels on other models. The Aerio has a spacious rear cargo area and a surprisingly roomy cabin. The car's wheelbase is only 99.6 inches, among the shortest in the compact vehicle glass. Yet the rear cargo area measures 63.7 cubic feet. That's third largest to the Ford Focus Wagon (73.0) and Chrysler PT Cruiser Wagon (64.2). All Aerois have split rear seatbacks. They lay flat when the headrests are removed and with seat bottoms flipped forward.

The Aerio also has above average steering and handling, a particularly tight turning circle, and its instrumentation console features clearly marked gauges and easy-to-use controls. The automatic climate controls are standard, an unexpected feature for the price range.

The Honda Civic, Mazda 3 and Toyota Matrix are chief rivals and all have good legacies and good value in resale markets.

But the Aerio should not be overlooked as an option. With Suzuki's 7-year, 100,000-mile warranty, the little car with the unique name has more going for it than the half-car status its price indicates.

2006 Suzuki Aerio, The Weekly Driver

Safety features -- Dual front and side impact airbags.

Fuel Mileage (mpg estimates) -- 25 (city), 31 (highway).

Warranty -- Bumper to bumper, 3 years/36,000 miles; Powertrain, 7 years/100,000 miles; Corrosion, 3 years/unlimited mileage; Road side assistance, 3 years/36,000 miles.

Price range -- $15,199.00

A Profile Of Joan Laporta, President Of FC Barcelona

A Profile Of Joan Laporta, President Of FC Barcelona

Probably the first time many people heard of Joan Laporta was during the campaigning that preceded FC Barcelonas presidential elections in 2003. Joan Gaspart had just stepped down from the position he had filled since 2000, with morale at the club at a low after a series of disastrous seasons coinciding with falling attendances and mounting debts.

Laportas election promise was simple; if he were voted president he would sign David Beckham, a move that immediately raised his profile both in Barcelona and in the UK, won him tremendous support, and helped catapult him past Lluis Bassat, the presidential favourite.

Elected in June 2003 he soon found that he was unable to keep his promise and David Beckham went to Real Madrid instead fortunate as it turned out as he failed to live up to his reputation at all.

However, despite his initial setback Laportas deputy, Sandro Rossell, was able to sign a Brazilian player instead, Ronaldo de Assis Moreira - better known throughout the world as Ronaldinho. Also requiring a new team manager, Laportas team raised a few eyebrows with the appointment of Frank Rijkaard to the role, due to his relative inexperience and vowed to fight football violence, something his predecessor had overlooked.

With low player morale, the start of the season saw virtually no change in performance and Barcelona fans were calling for changes many people thought that Rijkaard should go, in favour of someone with the experience to turn the team around.

Barcelonas relative lack of success continued until half way though the season, and suddenly things started to gel. Edgar Davids was loaned from Juventus for the remainder of the 2003-2004 season and although he worked well with Ronaldinho and was popular with fans he was unable to agree terms to remain with the club. After that shaky start, Laportas first year of reign saw the club achieve what many of their fans thought impossible; they came second in the league to Valencia and earned a place in Champions League for the following year.

With Davids gone the search was on to reinforce the front of the team, as well as sweep out some of the players associated with the old guard. The rash of signings included Cameroon player Samuel Etoo, as well as Deco and Giuly. All was not going well inside the club though, with Laporta and Rossell in frequent dispute and Rossell reportedly wanting to change Rijkaard despite the seasons result, and accusing the management team of being influenced by former Bara player Johan Cruyff.

Barcelona made a good start to the 2004-2005 season and playing consistently and honing Rijkaards strategy of dominating the opposing team in its own area, Barcelona beat Real Madrid 3-0 at Santiago Bernabeu in the November, earning a round of applause from the home supporters. The strong performance lasted the entire season and saw Barcelona finish at the top of the league, although Chelsea knocked them out of Champions League.

This didnt stop Sandro Rossell and four other directors of FC Barcelona from waging war inside the club in a curiously ill-timed rebellion. Eventually Joan Laporta asked for public clarification of where these dissident directors stood; the five resigned in June 2005.

Barcelonas following season was even more successful, with both the domestic and Champions League titles; this time it was Barcelona who knocked Chelsea out of Champions League and went on to win the title against Arsenal. However there was more trouble over the term of Laportas presidency, with a court decision that the elections should have been called in June.

In the end the election didnt take place although set for September there was no candidate with enough backing to oppose him and so Joan Laporta remains president to this day.

David Leigh recommends visiting the home of FC Barcelona, Camp Nou. The museum and stadium tour is available all day on Monday-Saturday or Sunday mornings.

Tips for Buying Police Seized Cars at Auto Auctions

Tips for Buying Police Seized Cars at Auto Auctions

If you want to get a good buy on a used car, why not try getting one from a police auction? These auctions are held by official police garages, impound lots, or towing services. In large metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles, public auctions of seized cars are held weekly. Just call your local police garage to find out when they are having the next scheduled auction. You can also check your local newspaper for announcements about upcoming police auctions.

What can you expect to find at a police auction? These usually deal with cars that have been confiscated from traffic rule violators and people with unpaid traffic fines. If the owner does not claim a car within a week, it can be put up for auction. At the police auctions, the cars are sold as is with no warranties or guarantees. You will not be able to return a car after buying it, and you will find it very difficult to get a reimbursement should you seek one.

For these reasons, you should think hard about buying a car at a police auction. You cannot always depend on the quality of the cars sold. Police seized cars can vary a lot in quality, but most of them are at least in running condition when they are confiscated. It would be better to attend the type of police auction that is held weekly. With other auctions, you may not know how long a car has remained unused in the impound lot, and whether the lack of maintenance has caused any degradation in its condition.

You need to make sure that the car you get at a police auction has a clean title. It rarely happens, but stolen cars do get sold at police auctions now and then, and you definitely do not want to buy one of those. The best thing to do is to obtain the vehicle identification number of the car before the auction and run it through the Carfax website, where you can get its vehicle history. This will tell you if the car has a clean title.

If you are really interested in buying a car at a public auto auction, you can find helpful information on getting good deals at http://www.deal-finders.com/car-auctions/

Female Anorexia

Female Anorexia

There is absolutely no doubt that a vast majority of anorexics are women. Highest number of anorexic women belong to the age group of 10 to 20 years, but middle-aged women also form a substantial part of the anorexic population. Interestingly, even women as old as 76 years have been found to suffer from this disorder. Studies prove that chances of anorexia developing at an early age are higher for women as compared to men. This is because when girls reach puberty, many of them tend to put on weight. Since childhood, girls are made to feel that men are attracted to women who are thin and have a shapely figure. This, supplemented with the change of feelings that a girl undergoes regarding the opposite sex, leads to uncertainty and insecurity. Girls also tend to imitate public figures and come to believe that their salvation lies only in being thin and slender. Sports like ice-skating and gymnastics along with other professions like ballet and modeling also demand a lean body structure.

Little do they realize the harm that they are doing to their bodies. Physical pain is especially pronounced amongst women. Most of the anorexic women have irregular menstrual periods. In extreme cases, many even stop having them and need treatment like artificial induction. This kind of weight loss is dangerous and has various negative side effects, both physical and psychological. As the body does not get adequate nutrition the general health condition deteriorates and with age these women are susceptible to several diseases.

Anorexia makes it next to impossible, not just to conceive a baby, but to manage to carry it the whole nine months. Normally, a pregnant woman should gain at least 25 to 35 pounds during pregnancy. An anorexic pregnant woman, who refuses to eat healthily, thereby not gaining the required weight, could cause a lot of damage to herself and her unborn child. She requires special medical attention and psychological care.

Travel Trailer Rental

Travel Trailer Rental

Travel trailers are indeed one of the most affordable types of recreation vehicles out there. But if your budget does not allow you to purchase a new vehicle, the easiest solution would be to just rent one.

Renting a travel trailer instead of buying a new one offers a lot of advantages for the first-time traveler. First, it allows you to enjoy traveling with the comforts of home without spending all of your vacation money on the trailer alone. Renting a travel trailer also allows you to evaluate a particular type of trailer, which may be helpful if you are planning to purchase one sometime in the future. By renting different types of travel trailers, you will get to know which model you really want.

There are a few basic things, however, that you need to know before renting a travel trailer. You need to find information about where to locate a travel trailer rental company. You also need to know what these companies require from you, what you can expect from these companies, and what the company can and cannot provide.

Finding a travel trailer rental company should be easy because there are a lot of them around, especially along or near renowned campgrounds. There are a few requirements, however, that these companies have before allowing you to rent one. These requirements usually include proof of your age (minimum age requirements usually vary by state), a valid driver's license, and a major credit card.

In return, you could (and you should) ask these companies to furnish you with all the documents related to the rental, including a copy of the contract and the rental policies. It is also your responsibility to ask about the details of the rental package. This way, you'll know what additional items you need to bring with you while you travel.

Enjoying a vacation travel inside a travel trailer need not be expensive. With proper knowledge and with extra care, you can find a travel trailer rental company that can provide you with all your needs at a very affordable price.

How Meditation Can Change Your Life in 2006

How Meditation Can Change Your Life in 2006

Are you stressed out? Do you worry about your physical health? Your mental health? Your spiritual health? Do you wish you had less stress and anxiety in your life and more peace and harmony?

Well, I felt all of these things a few years ago and I thought I was going to go crazy or die. I was working 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week at a very stressful job. I had a wife and two kids at home who wanted, and deserved, my time and attention. I had a mortgage, two car notes, tuition, medical bills, overdue taxes, and credit card debt coming out of my ears!

I was running nonstop through my days trying to take care of everything and make everybody happy but I never had enough time to take care of myself. In bed at night, my heart would pound from stress and anxiety. I worried about my job, my marriage, the kids, the bills, the house, my heath, and even my sanity.

My health was of particular concern. I felt tired all the time. I was gaining weight. My back was always hurting. Climbing even one flight of stairs left me breathless and dizzy. I felt like I was falling apart physically, mentally, and spiritually.

I was really worried about myself but I didnt know what to do. I tried the gym, several fad diets, home exercise machines, and even time management programs. I had about the same results with each new thing I tried. They all seemed to help at first, but I just couldnt stick with any of them for very long. I now realize that they didnt work because they were all short term fixes to a long term problem. I had to change my life.

I knew I had a lot to learn, but I couldnt afford to buy a bunch of books and everything at the library seemed to be outdated. So I made a habit of stopping at the local Barns and Noble on the way home from work each day. I read everything I could find on stress, anxiety, health, diet, and self-improvement. I felt like a cheat just sitting there reading the books without buying them but nobody seemed to mind. I usually bought a cup of coffee or tea just to ease my conscience a little.

I read a lot of great books with wonderful insights on improving ones life. Not surprisingly, one subject came up over and over; meditation. I had tried to meditate several years earlier but had gotten frustrated and quit before really giving it a chance. But, I was desperate and determined to try anything that might help.

One book in particular said, Start right now! I was too embarrassed to sit in the book store and meditate, but I didnt want to waste another moment. So I went out to my car, adjusted the seat into a comfortable position, set my watch alarm for 30 minutes, then closed my eyes and started counting my breaths.

That turned out to be a defining moment in my life. Of course, I didnt have instant success. Mediation takes practice and can be very difficult at times. But making the decision to incorporate meditation into my everyday life changed everything for me.

I continued to stop at the book store each night for a while and split my time between reading and meditating. Nothing else had changed in my life. I still had a stressful job, my marriage, my kids, my house, and bills but, somehow, I was feeling betterless stressedeven more energetic!

No, it didnt magically solve all of the woes in my life. But once I started feeling more relaxed and less stressed, I was better able to focus on the other things I needed to do to become mentally, physically, and spiritually healthy.

I soon started a daily meditation practice at home. I also began a reasonable exercise plan that included walking, a light workout, and yoga. These things combined with eating right (most of the time), have literally changed my life. Im now happier, healthier, and at peace with the world around me.

I hope this story inspires some of you to take that first step and begin incorporating meditation into your own life. This is the perfect time to make the decision. What better New Years resolution than to change your life for the better? There are numerous meditation methods and practices out there and a myriad of resources available to you in book stores and on the web. Im sure you can find something that works for you.

In fact, Ive compiled a host of information on mediation, relaxation, yoga, and other related subjects at my website: www.imcalmer.com. I would also be very happy to share my own experience. Please dont hesitate to contact me at mikes@imcalmer.com if you have any questions or comments.

Speed Up Your Metabolism

Speed Up Your Metabolism

Wouldn't it be nice to have your metabolism working faster for you -while you veg out? You know those Sunday afternoons when you're lying around, watching a movie on-demand? Well, as long as you've been lifting weights, there's no need to feel guilty for relaxin.

Strength training builds muscle mass, which activates your metabolism. Once a speedy metabolism has been achieved, you can go about your day, doing your regular activities, while easily burning calories.

Muscle is an active tissue, and its the engine that will rev up your metabolism. That's because muscle burns more calories than fat.

Thomas Williamson, of Equinox Gym, New York, says:

"Building muscle is the most fundamental component in staying lean. Think of muscle and metabolism working together - like a partnership. The more muscle tissue you have, the higher your metabolism and the more calories you'll burn when you rest. The less muscle you have, the less calories you'll burn. The best way to get your metabolism to work faster so that you can burn more calories, is by building more muscle - lifting weights and strength training. Losing weight doesn't happen just by eating little and doing some cardio; that plan can actually slow down your metabolism. One pound of muscle burns 75 calories, while one pound of fat burns 2 calories."

So, if you're a victim of yo-yo diets, the one word answer to your dilemma may be - muscle. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories you burn even when you're just sitting around. If you're worried about getting too buff...don't fret ladies, studies show you can increase your strength without getting bulky.

Be smart- lift some "dumbbells" to speed up your metabolism.

Review - Really Bend It Like Beckham - David Beckham's Official Soccer Skills

Review - Really Bend It Like Beckham - David Beckham's Official Soccer Skills

David Beckham was undoubtedly one of my favourite football player in the last decade. He launched his very first soccer skills DVD in the year 2004 and I immediately bought this DVD to give it a try.

Here's my personal review of the David Beckham's soccer skills DVD.

An attractive rectangular-shaped DVD case includes two sets of DVD; Disc 1 and Disc 2. Disc 1 covers the main programme and Disc 2 covers the extras like Behind the Scenes.

Select your favourite or weakest skill and drill through a user-friendly main menu interface.

Disc 1

The main programme shows every football skills and drills like crossing, space making skills, free kicks etc personally guided by David himself.

Basic Skills : ball control and turning skills ( e.g Cruyff Turn)

Off-the-ball skills : a) Defending skills : closing down and defending

b) Attacking skills : space making skills, forward play and working for space

Passing skills : passing and long balls ( e.g chipping)

Finishing and Set-Pieces : finishing and free kicks

All football skills are explained in greater depth and shown in step by step with slow motion. One of the 'cool' features I found in this DVD is the split screen showing both the step by step and the execution in 'real' time.

David also guide the kids with his personal experiences by encouraging them to improve their weaker foot and also the importance of first touch in a 'real' football match.

Disc 2

Special Features

Extra Footage You'll able to see what's behind the making of this DVD involving David Beckham and other crews. The kids in this DVD have a once in lifetime chance to ask questions regarding David's personal life and professional career. I personally love to watch the kids playing a football game with David. Some of it are funny and some are interesting.

Special Effects A 'cool' feature for those who likes to know more about the technology used to motion capture, time slice and slow motion effects. I found this one to be interesting because I get to study David's movement and technique in absolute detail.

David's Football Highlights Watch David Beckham's important moments for Manchester United, England and possibly in footballing history. Some of you may want to replay his goal from the half way line against Wimbledon in 1996.

DVD Rom Users are able to print out the coaching plan of the skills and drills so that you can always refer and practice.

My Recommendation

Newbies in soccer are recommended to watch this comprehensive DVD as you'll learn the skills and drills related to the actual situation in football matches and also receive useful tips from David himself.

However it lacks entertaining skills like step overs which might go against 'artistic' players. Experience players may like to reinforce certain basic skills that they're weak at. Until now I'm still watching this DVD to improve my weaker left foot.

In general, the DVD is great, user friendly along with good replay value at an affordable price.

Heroes of FC Barcelona - Johan Cruyff

Heroes of FC Barcelona - Johan Cruyff

Fans of FC Barcelona remember Johan Cruyff fondly for both his time as a player for the club in the 1970s and then as the longest serving and most successful manager in the club's history.

Cruyff's footballing career began with Dutch club Ajax, who he had joined on his tenth birthday, debuting for the first team aged 17 in 1964 and the following season his 25 goals helped Ajax to win the league.

The 1966-67 season was even better for Johan Cruyff; not only did Ajax win the league again, but Cruyff ending the season as the leading goal scorer in the Dutch league. With a total of 33 goals to his credit he was named Dutch footballer of the year, an award he received for the two following seasons.

Cruyff's move to Barcelona came in 1973 and he quickly won favour with the Catalan supporters by saying that Real Madrid had never been an due to its association with Franco. His second season at FC Barcelona saw them win the league for first time since 1960 and humiliating Real Madrid in a 5-0 win at Santiago Bernabeu. While at Barcelona he was awarded the prestigious European Player of the Year twice in a row.

In 1979, aged 32, Johan Cruyff moved to America, where he first played for the Los Angeles Aztecs for just one season followed by Washington Diplomats. At the beginning of the 1981 season he returned to Spain, where he played for Levante, quickly followed by a move back to Ajax. However in 1983 Ajax failed to renew his contract and signing for Feyenoord, Ajax's arch-rival, he helped win the Dutch league.

Johan Cruyff also had a successful international career, appearing for Holland 48 times and scoring 33 goals, refusing to participate in the 1986 World Cup in Argentina because of the alleged used of torture and murder practised by the Junta then in power.

Retiring as a player, he Cruyff's career as a manager started with Ajax, but it was at Barcelona, which he rejoined in 1988, that was the highlight of his management career.

With 11 titles won between1988 and 1997, his time as manager is considered to be one of the golden eras for the club and the side he assembled, commonly referred to as "The Dream Team", won the Spanish league title for four successive years between 1991 and 1994.

T.E.A.M Profit

T.E.A.M Profit

As you network and meet other business owners, keep this philosophy in mind: "Together Everyone Achieves More Profit"

Remember this when you meet someone with a business that serves your target market. Think about how each of you can work together to achieve more and grow your businesses.

The following case study shows how to grow your business using the T.E.A.M Profit concept:

Ted is a Real Estate Agent specializing in working with residents who want to purchase fixer upper homes.

His target market consists of busy professionals who have more money than time.

His prospects are interested in investing in homes that are structurally sound but in need of cosmetic improvements that will increase the value of the home.

Ted is struggling to attract clients despite the fact that there is a viable market for his niche.

Ted starts to attend more networking events in an effort to market his business. Instead of meeting anyone in his target market at the networking events, Ted meets a Home Inspector, General Contractor, and a Real Estate Appraiser.

Using the T.E.A.M Profit concept, Ted is able to leverage his new contacts into accelerated business growth for all of them.

Remembering that: "Together Everyone Achieves More Profit by helping each other", Ted comes up with solutions that will help him and his new contacts attract more clients by working together.

Ted formed a strategic alliance with the Home Inspector that resulted in Ted's clients receiving a discounted rate on their Home Inspection.

This added more value for the clients because they didn't have to waste their valuable time searching for a Home Inspector. They were also assured that their home was structurally sound before they invested in it.

Ted's strategic alliance with the General Contractor provided his clients with special packages for their home improvement needs.

Ted's strategic alliance with the Real Estate Appraiser provided his clients with another solution to their needs. Once the home improvements were completed, the Real Estate Appraiser determined how much value was added to their new investment.

Ted's clients were satisfied with his value added services and referred new clients to him on a regular basis. Everyone in Ted's T.E.A.M Profit circle were also satisfied because they were now able to attract more clients with less effort and in less time.

How can you apply the T.E.A.M Profit concept to accelerate your business growth?

Breast Massage for Breast Enlargement

Breast Massage for Breast Enlargement

Breast massage as a method of natural breast enlargement and breast health has actually been used for years as a means of stimulating healthy breast growth and promoting breast tone, pliability and firmness.

Breast massage is one of the best ways to help create a more beautiful bustline by helping to shape, tone and promote growth of the breast and the area surrounding the breast. Not only can moderate breast massage help to make your bustline more attractive and sometimes even grow larger, but it is also an excellent way to keep in tune to your breast health by creating awareness of any fibrous areas of possible indications of breast cancer and some have even claimed moderate breast massage can help to prevent cancer.

Breast massage has been used in beauty parlors and massage parlors, especially in Asia, as a means of healthy lymphatic drainage, breast growth promotion, and as a post operative therapy for women who have undergone mastectomies, breast surgery, or other trauma to the breast area, since it helps break down scar tissues as well as stimulate healing and tissue regeneration.

There has been much speculation that the practice of wearing a bra 12-15 hours per day by most women restricts lymph flow and healthy riddance of toxins, and apart from not wearing a bra, which is not an option for many women in today's societies, breast massage is the best way to help the lymphatic system drain these pent up toxins and help to prevent them from building up and contributing to cancer or other ailments.

By massaging the breasts on a regular basis, many women is Asia have claimed it has enhanced the shape, size and overall attractiveness of their breast, while also giving them a sense of oneness with their femininity, and promoting relaxation and peace of mind, as other methods of body massage do.

Many who practice breast massage for increased breast fullness and beauty also have utilized special herbal serums or creams formulated to further stimulate the breasts into "expanding", firming and toning, creating an overall larger look and correcting sagging, droopiness and other traits deemed unattractive by other individuals.

Believe it or not, the Thai government has recently reported it supports breast massage as a means for breast enlargement and breast health, so there really must be something to this phenomena.

Here are some guidelines for breast massage you may want to follow:

1.) Use a breast enhancing cream or lubricant - preferably a quality one with natural stimulating herbs and botanicals (see our reviews page for info on Benefil) - of your choice to help prevent friction and increase the enjoyment and relaxation of the massage for a more pleasurable and therapeutic experience. This can be an herbal mixture - there are some good ones out there that really do help to promote firmess and breast tone, while creating a larger and more rounded look.

2.) Light to moderate massaging using a gentle back and forth gentle swishing action is best. This can be in a counterclockwise circle around the breast to help promote maximum lymphatic drainage.

3.) To gain maximum benefit and therapeutic effects, breast massage should be practiced daily, as part of a routine - perhaps when fresh out of the shower, since the skin is still somewhat moist and the room may still be steamy, for a smoother massage which may be more easily lubricated since there will still be moisture in the air. If you prefer, even several times a day can be a great benefit. It depends on what fits into your schedule. A few minutes at a time should suffice.

Taking Advantage Of Repo Car Sales?

Taking Advantage Of Repo Car Sales?

Repo car sales are an excellent way for you to get the auto that you want at the right price. But, there are some things that you should really think about and consider before investing in these cars. Likewise, you also need to insure that the vehicles that you purchase are actually worth the price that they are being sold at. Not everyone sees the value of a vehicle in the same light, so youll need to make this decisions on your own. Lastly, youll need to know just where to look to find options that fit your specific needs and your budget as well. Repo car sales offer you the auto you want, when you get it right.

Beware!

When you purchase vehicles under this method, you may need to protect yourself. You are, in most cases, purchasing the vehicle in an as is state. That means that you are may get a few problems along with your purchase. You can combat this, though, by getting to know a mechanic and making him your friend. In all seriousness, a good mechanic can see and hear most major problems with a car by just taking it for a test drive. If you plan to purchase several cars in this fashion, you should consider finding someone to call on whenever you need them. Or, if you know them well enough yourself, this may be the right time to use those skills.

Money, Money, Money

Youre investing money in this purchase. Your money. So, make sure it counts. There are some excellent ways to save it too when you are purchasing repossessed vehicles. You should start by knowing what is out there and then knowing how to get it. You can often find options right on the web to get you started on repossessed vehicles. You will want to look for those opportunities that are really valuable such as bank situations in which the lender is trying to get rid of the car. This can be a real savings for you.

Another avenue to look into are auctions. You can generally find them in your area offering opportunities. You can find them on the web as well. In fact, this can be an excellent way to find a great car for very little. But, the point is that you should find options that fit your needs not just because they are so cheap. Again, you can find a wealth of information on the vehicles themselves as well as their value right here on the web. There are websites set up for various areas or you can purchase one that is from across the country and have it delivered to you. Whatever your need is, it more than likely can be met online.

The goal is to know the quality of the vehicle the best you can, to do your research to find the best prices that are available and to monitor the options that you have. The web can really be an excellent tool to use here.

Free Ringtones For Mobile Subscribers

Free Ringtones For Mobile Subscribers

Mobile manufacturers readily provide a free ringtone in every phone model sold. There are already wallpapers, themes, games and ring tones available in every mobile phone. Usually, a freebie tone in a phone is merely a special effect sound trademark of a phone manufacturer.

For example, Sony Ericsson and Nokia models each have their own trademark ringtone. This also goes with the wallpaper, theme and games. Having its own trademark functions will help in the successful advertising of the their brand. Aside from this, there are other special effect tones saved in the phone. These special effect tones can either be the sound of birds, waterfalls, melodious chants, etc.

Users, however, are usually not contented with a free ringtone, they are expected to experiment and explore the possibilities of downloading others. Why? This is because these freebies are usually not polyphonic. Polyphonic tones are the current standard of ringtones available in the market.

Polyphonic playing usually depends on the kind of phone used. A mobile can be said to be capable of playing polyphonic tones if it can simultaneously play about 16 notes at a time. Most of the high-end phones offered in the market are capable of polyphonic playing. Due to this advancement in technology, users have access to a livelier music.

A ringback tone can be assigned to a specific contact in the phonebook function of the phone. Through this capability, mobile users can assign any ringtone for each contact. This way, they can easily know who is calling or sending SMS messages to them. A specific ringtone can be separately assigned to an incoming voice call and a text message.

Current phonebook functions in high-end technology also let users insert a picture or image of the caller. Soon, videos can also be attached to each contact of the phonebook. In this case, a free ringtone from the manufacturer can be similar to their stand-by wallpaper videos.

The freebie tone offered by manufacturers is still basically a single-tone and not polyphonic in spite of the improvement of functions. It can be recalled that a ringback tone is supposed to be the indicator of an incoming call or text. This is the possible reason why manufacturers retain the free single-tone ringtones.

Along with the vibrate functions, they serve as the default format of the phone. In the instance of a virus attack, mobile users can easily revert back to the default format of the mobile phone and an original free ringtone will be activated for the convenience of the mobile user.

Craig Thornburrow is an acknowledged expert in his field. You can get more free advice on MP3 ringtones for Nokia and free polyphonic ringtones from verizon at http://www.ringtonesvault.com

Weight Loss The Hypnotic Way

Weight Loss The Hypnotic Way

In the western world we enjoy relative luxury compared to the rest of the planet but it comes at a price. There are more than sixty million Americans who are obese with the UK increasing in obesity numbers every year also. Our children are also following in our footsteps as child obesity has doubled in the States since 1980 and has gotten so out of hand in the UK that the government had to step in and ban certain foods from schools!

Developing a weight problem or being obese is much more than just an uncomfortable or embarrassing condition. It brings with it an increase in the risk of a great many diseases and health conditions, the best known of which are type 2 diabetes and heart disease. These are serious illness that can cause lifelong hardship or even lead to early death!

So how do we combat this? Well hypnosis is one solution! Hypnosis is a technique that spans thousands of years and is designed to gain access to your subconscious mind where your beliefs and behavioural patterns are stored. Through the use of hypnosis it is possible to reprogram these beliefs and behaviours relatively quickly and easily. It has consistently worked well with smoking cessation, nail biting, nervous disorders, eczema and other health and behavioural conditions. So it should come as no surprise that it can also be used to re-program your eating and exercise habits. Its a simple enough process. A hypnotherapist will work with the client until they understand the reasons for their eating habits and why they started to overeat in the first place. This behaviour is usually linked to emotional issues rather than a physical need to eat. The client is then gently guided into a state of deep relaxation. The mind and body are brought to a resting state before the hypnotist gives them carefully worded post hypnotic affirmations that are designed to create deep changes in their behaviour and habits.

Post hypnotic suggestions are extremely powerful and work very effectively to change your habits and former conditioning. The use of post hypnotic suggestions is of utmost importance when using hypnosis. However, a competent hypnotherapist will always address the deeper emotional issues connected to overeating and also remove those before replacing them with good habits.

The key then to any weight loss program is to first address the reasons why you are overeating and eliminate them. Hypnosis is the fastest and most efficient way of doing this. It can be the most efficient and fastest way to train yourself into enjoying a healthy eating plan and exercise regime. Try it, you may just like it!

Phentramin Reviewed

Phentramin Reviewed

There has been a lot of press and media attention targeted at the recent myriad of "Hoodia" diet supplements. The initial consumer response has been quite receptive, and surprisingly enough many of the media outlets (including popular investigative shows such as 60 Minutes) have actually greeted these new diet supplements with a warm response.

After a lot of deliberation (and a quick 5 minute consultation with my girlfriend), I decided that I would try one of the more popular products (Phentramin) and see how it goes. Now Phentramin does not claim to be a wonder pill, and it says that I will only see really significant results if I take it as directed as well as exercise and stay active.

That struck me as a bit odd, but I've decided to simply stick to my current routine (eating relatively healthy with light cardio every now and then) and add Phentramin to it. Any results will be due to Phentramin, and not me working out.

One Week

So after consuming 14 pills (2 per day; one in the morning, and one in the early afternoon) I am somewhat dismayed to notice only a slight change in weight with a total loss only adding up to 3 pounds. Since this is my first time taking any kind of supplement I was hoping for a more dramatic change in my weight, though I suppose that losing 12 pounds every month for essentially doing nothing different is an acceptable outcome.

One thing I have noticed is that my mouth was excessively dry for the first few days that I took it, but after simply drinking more water (around 12 glasses a day) I've yet to experience it again. If anything, I'll lose a bit of weight and I'll be well hydrated.

Two Weeks

I've now taken 28 pills and my results are not that much different than they were at the end of last week- I've lost a total of 5 pounds, and only 2 pounds during this last week. I'd be a bit more upset, but my eating habits have not consciously changed (though I will admit that I am eating less), and the weight that I've lost has yet to re-appear. I can't quite squeeze into a few pairs of jeans I wore a couple of years ago, but I figure that it's not too far off.

As well, I have not had any side effects to speak of this week. No dry mouth, no irritability, no nothing. That I do like.

Three Weeks

Now at 42 pills and still going strong. Something interesting happened mid-week, though: I noticed that I was really jumpy, and that feeling kept going on, and on, and on... you get the point. I was like the energizer bunny, but probably twice as annoying.

Oh, and I'm happy to say that I've lose 12 pounds, and 7 of them came during this last week. Perhaps it was a result of a case of mild hyperactivity, but I'll take it. I'm almost a full two sizes smaller around my waistline, and I'm still eating and drinking whenever I feel like it.

Month End

So I've taken the entire bottle (60 pills) and I have mixed emotions. On one hand, I'm glad and somewhat relieved that I no longer have to take diet pills and I can say that I am not taking any supplements for my weight loss. On the other hand, however, I'm disappointed- I really enjoyed the increased energy and enthusiasm I had during the last couple of weeks.

But I'm sure none of you reading this will care about that. What's the number, you ask? Well, last week I said I had lost 12 pounds in total. Take a guess at what I lost during my fourth and final week.

If you guessed 6 pounds, for a total of 18 pounds lost, you were absolutely incorrect. I lost a total of 20 pounds (8 during the last week) over the course of the month literally making no effort to do anything different other than take Phentramin. I did eat less, but not because I wanted to, but because I wasn't hungry as often.

Did I enjoy Phentramin? You betcha, and I'm not ashamed to recommend it to others! But please, take my review with a grain of salt and check out customer-submitted diet pill reviews to help you save money and find a diet pill that actually works.

I Am A Liverpool's Fan

I Am A Liverpool's Fan

The Kop in Thailand
I am a Liverpool fan in Thailand. I started to watch football since I was about 12 years old, approximately 1998. I love Liverpool because my daddy. He suggested me to find something I like and interested. He taught me about basic rule of football such as offside, foul, tackle, how to get penalty kick etc. After that, I watch English premiere league every week. My daddy's favourite team is Liverpool, so I decided to cheer this team. Michael Owen is a first my favourite Liverpool's player, he has wonderful talent and incredible speed. He also a great scorer with just 18 years old. I wanted Liverpool to success in their league but they never done it until now. However my daddy informed me that they can did it since the league named "Division 1"

Now, I am 19 years old. Liverpool still cannot go to the first ranking in English Premiere League. Michael Owen went to Real Madrid in Spain about 2-3 years ago. Then, Steven Gerrard had becomes an important player of the middle area in Liverpool team. In comparison, Steven Gerrard is a essential element or main engine of the red machine. He is a person who control the tempo of the game. He has a incredible powerful shot. His shot always help Liverpool in emergency situation. For example, the final game of F.A. Cup last year with Charlton. Liverpool almost defeated in at 3-2 but while injured time his shot lead Liverpool to the penalty and also beat Charlton.

My favourite Liverpool's player changes from Owen to Gerrard. I think Gerrard can changes the game and always help Liverpool. He lead Liverpool to the Champion of UEFA Champion League in the last 2 years and now he is going to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in semi-final round. I hope Liverpool will be the champion again.

How The Wristwatch Has Evolved Over The Years

How The Wristwatch Has Evolved Over The Years

Today the wrist watch is a very popular piece of jewelry. The wrist watch can be seen on many wrists where ever you go. Many people wear watches not only for its practical use to see the time, but as a symbol of their status. Men and women alike wear wrist watches on a daily basis, this however was not always the case.

You never used to see men with a wrist watch, instead they used pocket watches. Wrist watches were only made for women, and that is how they liked it. These wrist watches were referred to as wristlets, and most men would not even think about wearing one. These wrist watches were also deemed not very accurate due to their size. There have obviously been some changes to the watch since.

War times is what marked the first change in the wrist watch. When the soldiers were in battle it was very difficult for them to reach in their pockets to see what time it was. This was not easy to do when you are in battle trying to carry your gun and everything else. In order to free up their hands some soldiers made leather bands for their wrists that their watches fit in. This made the watch easier to access while in battle.

The wrist watch made it easier for the troops to plan their attacks and synchronize them. If everyone had their watch set to the same time you all knew exactly when you needed to attack. This was a great help in battle. The wrist watch along with the development of new weapons helped in winning battle.

Since the watch was growing in popularity the watch makers started making them for men. The problem with these wrist watches was that the face was still easily damaged. The solution to this problem was to make a grid usually out of silver that went on the face to protect it, but still allowed you to read the time. The band itself on the watch also went through some changes. You could now get wrist watches that had expandable and flexible bands.

Even with the wrist watches success with the troops, it took two decades for it to gain the rest of the public's vote. People were still not very fond of the design. As changes were made more people started liking the wrist watch and wearing it. People began to realize that a wrist watch really was more convenient, and was more accurate than they used to be. Watch makers started making styles for both men and women to enjoy. These early wrist watches did use the same type of face guard seen on the military watches to protect the face of the watch.

Fund Raising Tips

Fund Raising Tips

If you're getting tired of the same old PTA fundraisers year after year, do something about it! You don't have to join the PTA to help out your school. Just offer them your ideas and help them implement the ones they like. These ideas need to be simple to create, have a 50% profit margin, and be useful to children as well as adults. Remember that the children who will be selling any items may have to carry them around the neighborhood. So make sure the items aren't too heavy and that you can carry quite a few at one time easily. Here is a list to get you started fund raising for your school or non-profit organization:

1. Arrange with your school officials to save the empty small milk cartons served with school lunch. Completely open milk carton and rinse with water. Dry the outside with paper towels. Make a single hole punch at the top of one side of the carton and a second hole punch directly across from it. Insert ribbon 12 inches long through both holes, tie a knot for hanging later. Again, make sure the outside of the carton is dry and spread creamy peanut butter all over the carton. Roll in wild birdseed. You can sell these for $1-$2.

2. Have a Saturday Pancake Breakfast, hosted by the PTA or non-profit organization of your choice. Buy your pancake mix, syrup, and any other items, such as orange juice, that you want to serve, at your local Costco or Sam's Club. Recruit your help, plan your location, and sell tickets for $5 each. To cut costs, ask other members of the organization that will not be at the event to donate items such as paper plates, cups, and plastic ware. Several weeks ahead of time, invite your local radio station to the event and send out flyers.

3. Make simple flower pens with silk flowers, floral tape, and ballpoint pens. Using floral sheers or a pair of craft scissors, cut individual flowers off of the main stem. Uncap one ballpoint pen. Cut or tear a 12 inch strip of floral tape off the roll and stretch it to activate the adhesive. Place the bottom of the flower even with the end of the pen and hold in one hand. Using your other hand diagonally wrap both the pen and the flower with the strip of floral tape so that none of the pen shows through. Be sure to wrap the floral tape around itself at least once at the very beginning to ensure that it doesn't fall off. These can easily be sold for $1 each.

4. Sell lollipop grams at school! Buy tootsie roll pops in bulk. Create bookmarks with spaces for students to write messages on them. Punch a hole in the top of the bookmark, either in a corner or the middle, and tie the stem of the lollipop to the bookmark using color coordinating ribbon. These can be sold for 50 cents each.

5. Let's not over look the traditional bake sale. This continues to be a big hit no matter how often you have one. To make it easier for everyone involved, keep it simple. Cupcakes are great, just keep them covered and out of the sun. The icing melts easily, leaving them unattractive and you could end up taking most of them back home. Cookies are your best choice. You certainly want to have the ever popular oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip and peanut butter stand-bys.

However, why not decorate sugar cookies with icing and pretty sprinkles? It's eye catching and delicious. Be creative and have fun! You can package all of your cookies in sandwich bags, (if using "zip-lock" type, cut off the top.) and tie the baggie with pretty curling ribbon. Depending on the size of your cookies, you can sell two for a dollar. Smaller cookies may be three or four for a dollar.

How To Gain Power and Attraction

How To Gain Power and Attraction

POWER. Some have it, some dont have it. Some crave for it, some lose it. Dictionary.com defines power as the ability to act, to accomplish something; in short, the possession of control or command over others. Throughout history, people are attracted to powerful people.

Power comes in many forms; in our cavemen days, power is the ability to hunt, to bring food back to the tribe. When the Roman Empire ruled the land, the senator with the most connections was seen as powerful. These days, a combination of social status the car we drive and the money we have signify our power.

So is power reserved for the few privileged ones or can an average Joe exude a great sense of power? Is power in-born, acquired or can it be developed? What is the structure of power? Why do some people get respected more often and attracts tonnes of business opportunities, better jobs, better prospects, better women or men to their lives while the others dont? How do we get ourselves from being the needy to being the wanted?

Throughout my experience, I find that some people have short cut to power while others have to develop certain elements to gain those power. Yes, good-looking people have a short cut to power as people like good-looking people. Social psychology has proven research after research that good-looking people are perceived to be smarter, better and nicer. Men are automatically drawn to beautiful women and if we read Robert Greenes alluring once-start-cannot-stop Art of Seduction book, we will notify throughout history, women repeatedly use their natural beauty to overpower men. In ancient Japan, there were lady Ninjas known as Kunoichi, often disguised as Geishas (female entertainers), to get close to warlords.

Luxuries in the likes of a gold Rolex watch or a Patek Philippe watch will command us instant power. Other luxuries like BMWs and Mercedes Benz as well. An Emporio Armani suit for the men and Gucci handbags for the women. All these luxuries will instantly gain us higher social status. The same goes for titles like Datuk or Tan Sri in Malaysia or the knighthood Sir in England.

Ever wonder how common people like us can gain power? Ive always been shy and timid when I was a kid this is a great surprise to many people who know me today, simply because I always command attention and respect. Ive learned the secrets from my many years in the business world, read lots of books in search for the formula and fortunately, Ive found them. The best part is they are not that hard to put into practice.

What is the four Ps of marketing? Price, promotion, place and ? Packaging. So thats the first part. Packaging. We need to wrap ourselves effectively. We may not be born good looking but we must always look good. Body language experts tell us that people will judge us in four seconds from the moment they see us. This is before we even get to speak a word.

Is our shirt crisply ironed? Is it tidy and fashionable? Does the colour match? Are we well groomed? That means hair and nose hair. The same goes with women with armpit hair. Thats an instant KO. I change my leather shoes every three to six months depending on the wear and tear although I know some men are still wearing his three-year old leather shoes for sentimental reasons.

Looking good is a choice and people know this. If we look good, people will assume we are successful, living a good lifestyle, and that automatically gains us power. And if we have great physique, it also conveys great health. Instant power. If we have bad sense of clothing, get an image consultant or just browse through various fashion magazines or the Internet for ideas.

Next is body language. How do we stand? Are our chins up? Are our arms always folded? Smiling? Firm handshake? Chest spread? Are we always looking into peoples eyes while talking? I dont mean staring, which is a signal of hostility but genuinely staying focus on the other person.

The other thing about body language is our use of gestures. Move our hands a little more. Why? Because that takes up space, and powerful people always take up space. They own the space. It also adds more energy into the conversation, thats also dominance.

We may not be aware of our body language till now. Be aware of it; initially, it might be strange to be aware of it but after a while, we will get used to it. Be like an actor and act it out at first.

When we approach other people or a group during a networking or social environment, we have lower social power. Because high social value power people dont approach people, they get approached. That is why we need to look good and be aware of our body language. Be dominant but not aggressive. Dominant is power. Aggressive is violence.

Then comes our tonality and words. If you are in a networking function that is pretty noisy, its always good to speak a little louder than usual. Because loudness is also dominance. Do not shout, but make sure people you are talking to can hear you.

Words have to come from our knowledge. Thats why Im an advocate of reading. Universities give us the basic knowledge to get a job and thats it. Learning is lifelong. The more knowledgeable we are, the easier it is to gain power. It also makes us interesting and entertaining.

Imagine we are invited to a very prestigious event with lots of high profile people, and they serve various good wines. Besides knowing wines are made from grapes and there is red and white wine, our knowledge of wine is basically zero. If the person we are talking to has to explain to you what Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon is, who is likely to have more power?

Humour is also very important. It puts people at ease and melt the fear away. Unlike jokes, humour is often spontaneous and works really well. Some professionals even say a sense of humour reflects our intelligence. But dont end up being a laughing stock by trying to tell a stale humour. A worthwhile tip is to watch more comedy movies and observe how comedy is structured.

Another great skill all of us must have is storytelling. The main reason why storytelling works very well is because its entertaining. If we can relate our story of a time when we were in Egypt and there was this lion that kept following our jeep around as if it was protecting us, its definitely engaging. Great sales people are all great storytellers. Great speakers are all great storytellers. Great religious gurus are all great storytellers. Doesnt that tell us something?

Next, we should surround ourselves with powerful people. Birds of a feather flock together. If we are seen with powerful people, we are automatically associated with their powers. So improve on our networking skills. Then learn to build relationships and friendships.

Dont whine, bitch or complain. Those are very un-powerful behaviours, not to mention unprofessional as well. Typical traits of losers indeed. Powerful people talk about solutions. They are positive, upbeat and very optimistic. And they talk about useful things. Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of former US President Franklin D. Roosevelt, once said, Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people. Guess where gossiping belongs?

Understand emotions. What makes people angry? Jealous? Fear? Happy? It was a big hit a couple of years ago when Daniel Goleman popularised the term Emotional Intelligence for success and leadership trainings. They said successful people and effective leaders have the ability to accurately read, interpret and manage one selfs and other peoples emotional states.

New sales people often fail because they cannot manage their own emotions and reactions to rejections. Powerful people know this and is able to response instead of react.

Ask great questions. Dont keep talking about how great we are, people would love the chance to talk about themselves as well. As powerful people, we must lead people into doing it. We do that by asking great questions and then listen. Thats what great communicators do. Questions, talk, listen and questions. If we run out of interesting questions to ask, I suggest we get The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.

One great example of a person who has all the qualities described above is probably James Bond. Take away the good look and luxuries he has, James Bond will always dress well, has good body language, is knowledgeable, is a great storyteller, has excellent humor, great at managing his emotions, very optimistic, and apt at networking, especially with women. Lets build our James Bond attraction...

How To Choose A Quality Mechanic Who Won't Rip You Off

How To Choose A Quality Mechanic Who Won't Rip You Off

Everyone knows that proper and regular maintenance is necessary to keep your automobile in good working order. Even though you may have worked on your own cars as a teenager or still consider yourself to be an amateur car repair specialist I recommend that you leave the work to a qualified mechanic who has been trained to do the job properly. This is especially important on higher end vehicle makes such as Mercedes, BMW, and Lexus where the maintenance records play a large part in determining the value of a vehicle when you decide to sell it or trade it.

Deciding on a mechanic to entrust with caring for your vehicle is an important decision and should not be taken lightly. Finding the perfect mechanic isn't rocket science but on the other hand there isn't exactly a manual on how to find a good one either. Here are some things to keep in mind that will help you.

First off, ask the prospective mechanic for some references. Tell him what's in it for him. If you own several vehicles let him know that you will bring all of them to him for regular maintenance and repairs. Tell him that you take the car of your vehicles seriously and that is why you want to be able to speak to some of his customers to see what they have to say. If he is a reputable mechanic he will have no problem with this because he will have a long list of happy and satisfied clients. Another thing you can do along these same lines is ask friends and relatives who they use to take care of their cars and trucks. If you ask enough people you are sure to find a name that comes up often.

The next thing you should be concerned with is his qualifications or certifications. I prefer using a mechanic who is ASE certified as this is the industry standard and insures that the mechanic is proficient in his craft. Don't be afraid to ask the mechanic about this, a good mechanic will be proud of their achievements and will lost likely have them displayed where they can be seen. Don't trust you automobile to a shade tree mechanic.

If you belong to a car club for your particular make of vehicle ask other owners who they use. Most likely you will find that the majority of them use the same person who specializes in your particular vehicle and may even offer a discount to members of your club.

Finding a quality mechanic is important to the life of your car, don't underestimate this and take the time to find a good one.

Jewlery Style From Greek To Roman

Jewlery Style From Greek To Roman

The Ancient Greeks were aficionados of jewelry, wearing simple to complex jewelry often complemented with effigies of the Greek Gods Eros, Nike, Artemis, Isis and Aphrodite. Mycenae, the ancient Grecian city ruled by King Agamemnon, was the center for jewelry production in the 2nd millennium B.C. The Mycenaeans created jewelry of beads in the shape of animals and shells, gold, amethyst, emeralds, pearls, agate and other semi-precious stones in the evolution of their jewelry production from 1,400 BC- 300 BC.

The Greeks created the cameo, produced by using an agate stone striated with pink, cream or brown also called Indian Sardonyx. As jewelry design and techniques became more complex, they developed a laurel wreath to be worn as a crown of honor by scholars and heroes, sacred laurel leaves represented Apollo, the god of prophecy and intellect. Pendant earrings bedecked with Nike, Eros or dove figurines became popular fashion of the times. Pendants in the shape of Amphorae (the classic two-handled vase shape) ornamented with enamel or gemstones, hung by a rosette and capped with the crown of Isis. Spherical or wide chains of gold were worn as necklaces with hanging calyxes or fruit and clasps of animal heads or dolphins. The Greeks were fond of wearing gold wreaths as ornamental headdresses, elaborately decorated with flowers, acorns, foliage or images of Eros and Nike. Greek gold rings were set with gemstones or sealstones (containing an engraving used for seals).

After the fall of Greece by Alexander the Greats viscious conquest, the Hellenistic age begins, dating 330-27BC. Jewelry of this time was influenced by the Far East and Egypt, initiating new fashions, tastes and styles not only in jewelry design but overall aesthetics of life. Gold became the dominating metal accompanied by gemstones such as amethyst, cornelian, garnet, rock crystal and chalcedony during Hellenic rule.

Etruscan jewelry, highly influenced by Greek culture, produced a large amount of intricate and ornate jewelry styles that further influenced the Romans. The Etruscans developed granulation (where the surface of gold was soldered with tiny grains of gold to create a delicate pattern) dated to the 7th century BC. By the end of the Etruscan Period, as they were absorbed by the Roman Empire in the 3rd century BC, the ornate designs were replaced by more austere qualities and filigree (fine wire work with silver or gold) was utilized. The Phoenicians contributed colorful beads, inlay and enameling. Rings of this period included a scarab or single set gemstones in an oval formation set in an engraved bezel.

As the Romans came to power the craftsmanship of jewelry included many natural resources found in the vast regions of the Mediterranean and European continents. Romans invented the brooch which was used primarily for holding robes together. Gold continued to figure prominently and hemispheres constructed into bracelets, earrings and necklaces came into fashion. Bronze, pearls, bone, emerald and glass beads were used, complementing the gold settings. Although early Roman jewelry style borrowed from established Greek and Etruscan design, new motifs such as the Heracles knot (two loops intertwined) with an apotropaic figurine for averting evil spirits or bad luck was introduced. In 330BC, hoop earrings became fashionable with finial elements of animal heads, figure of Eros, maenads and negroes. Cameo portraits on rings and pendants and coiled gold snake-shaped bracelets made an appearance at this time. Upper class women of Roman times wore extensive amounts of jewelry and men were expected to adorn themselves with a minimum of one ring, made of gold or carved stone including a seal stone for wax-sealing important documents.

Herge Creator of Tintin Presnts Professor Calculus - The Deaf Inventor

Herge Creator of Tintin Presnts Professor Calculus - The Deaf Inventor

Professor Calculus otherwise known as Cuthbert Calculus was one of the more humorous characters in the Tintin world. Known as Profesor Tryphon Tournesol (meaning: Sunflower) in French his character was hard of hearing which led to much hilarity as he misunderstood conversations. For example: "attachez votre ceinture" (fasten your belt) is repeated as "une tache de peinture?" (a paint stain). Calculus never admits to being deaf and insists he is only hard of hearing in one ear in Destination Moon. In the Moon book series Cuthbert acquires an hearing aid that brings about a change in chararcter as he becomes a more serious person.

In later adventures however Professor Calculus loses his hearing aid and once again is back to his old dear deaf self. Where he is often distracted but who invents many object s in the series. The more famous of these inventions are the one-man shark-shaped submarine, the moon rocket (looks very similar to a V-2 rocket!) and an ultra sound weapon (now being used in todays modern warfare). Professor Calculus has a humanic side and tries to benefit the world with inventions such as a cure for alcohlism that makes alcohol taste horrible to the patient. In recognition of the contributions made by Caculus anti-drinking tablets made, General Alcazar appointed Cuthbert Knight Grand Cross of the Order of San Fernando with Oak leaves in Tintin and the Picaros.

Captain Haddock often hates these inventions (he being a bit of a drinker himself!) although Calculus often interprets this the other way around due to his deafenss. The Professor does have one weakenss it is if anyone (especially Haddock) calls him a goat. Or as Captain Haddock famously said in Destination Moon acting like a goat, the mild mannered Professor Calculus flew into a rage which borught about the very famous reply Goat, am I?, which to Tintin fans is legendry.

Cuthbert Calculus is a fervant beliver in dowsing, and carries a pendulum for that purpose. It is hard to believe but Calculus occasionly comments that he was a great sportsman in his youth, with a very athletic lifestyle. In flight 714 he demonstrates quite badly his former love of the french martial art savate which leaves the reader highly amused.

Calculus first appears in Red Rackhams Treasure and borught an end to a long search for a mad professor type which had led to the creation of previos character such as Dr. Sarcophagus in Cigars of the Pharoh and Professor Alembick in King Ottokars Sceptre. The character was inspired by the famous inventor of the bathyscaphe, Professor Auguste Piccard.

The Tintin debate is going to be very popular search topic as the movie draws near. John Helios has been a big Tintin fan for a number of years. He is very much looking forward to the new Tintin movie trilogy due for release in 2009.

The Willy, Gilbert & AJ Show- Detective Tommy Farris

The Willy, Gilbert & AJ Show- Detective Tommy Farris

The Willy, Gilbert & AJ Show: Detective Tommy Farris

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After 13 films in one era, the Willy, Gilbert & AJ Show will very soon release the satirical thriller, "Detective Tommy Farris", thus beginning the "Aggressive Era". The storyline follows a teenage mercenary hired by Gilbert .S and A.J. Dalton. He's hired to investigate terrorist threats from evil Elmo Dolls, a controversial plot outline as it is. This is the first film in the series to be divided into stages:
Act I: The Patron Saint of Teenagers
Act II: Theories
Act III: Attack
Act IV: Fall and Siege/Revolution
Act V: Vengeance
Act VI: Patriots Rise Above it All
Act VII: America
Promising as this 14th film sounds, the trailers and promotion spead like wildfire over the internet.

Thomas Farris and AJ Dalton plan to release a new video where they explain in an interview about the ideas and everything that came into this 14th film, but they said words to us:

I asked, when meeting with them once again, "What's the idea with the "Kamikaze Elmo Doll" plot outline? This is pretty controversial."

What I told them was true. Many religious or political extremists online have been offended by the unsettling farces of the Willy, Gilbert & AJ Show.

Thomas Farris replied, "The idea of the Kamikaze Elmo Dolls is loosely based on actual events. A Dallas mom raised hell when her Potty-Training book for her daughter said, "Who wants to die?". Really, it wasn't that famous, but it was at the very least, extremely interesting."

I asked: "Now, you also arrange the Willy, Gilbert & AJ Show as a band, too, right?:

Farris replied, "That's true. I cannot tell a lie about that, we write music as well."

I did further research into the episode, when I noticed lots of things I won't give away. That's all for now.

What's On Fire Here?

What's On Fire Here?

One morning a few days ago, I found myself filled with determination interwoven with anxiety. I had a tremendous list of things that needed to get done that day. Needed. Really. Yet the truth of the matter was that I knew - down deep inside even though I wasn't acknowledging it yet - that the chances that I'd get it all done that day were vanishingly slim. Nonetheless, I was convinced I needed ... well, you get the picture.

And I'd be willing to bet that you've experienced that same feeling. Whether it's at work (with your boss expecting one thing, your co-workers waiting for something else, and an employee at your office door with a crisis) or at home (where the laundry is piling up, the lawn hasn't been mowed in weeks, and the kids have soccer and yoga and swimming, and when was the last time you had a chance to just sit down with a cup of tea?), you, like me, have undoubtedly been there. If you just grit your teeth and focus, really concentrate, surely you can get it all done. (And then you can have that cup of tea!)

Of course, you can't. Not only can't you get it all done, but chances are you'll reach the end of the day exhausted, irritable, and angry with yourself. You'll be angry either because you "failed," or because you recognize (too late!) that you set yourself up for failure - or both. Either way, of course, you're in a no-win, all-lose position. Not fun, and not necessary, either.

Fortunately for me, I stopped and listened to that little voice telling me what trouble I was getting myself into. Not only did I stop and listen, but I actually agreed with it instead of arguing.

Once I recognized the impossibility of what I was expecting of myself, I was able to look at that "need" to get things done. I asked myself one simple question: "What's on fire here?"

In other words, what on that list was going to have real, tangible, and serious consequences if it didn't get done? Where on the list were the truly time-sensitive actions that, left uncompleted, would result in a broken promise, an important opportunity lost, a critical step missed in a larger project or stream of events?

Everything else didn't "need" to get done that day. In all probability many of those tasks would be "on fire" later in the week, but right now, that day, they weren't burning. And that meant they could be postponed. With luck and a little concentration (and maybe some delegation!), I would be able to get to them before they went up in flames, but I wasn't going to worry about them that day.

What I found truly fascinating about this process was that it resulted in a very different list of priorities than I would have had if I'd just started with what most appealed to me, or what I thought at first glance were the most urgent tasks. And it was absolutely the right prioritization.

That question - "What's on fire here?" - has become a big part of my planning process now. While I obviously prefer to get to things before they are in crisis mode, this question ensures that I'm focusing on the real priorities, rather than the things I want to do or think I should do.

So next time you hear that little voice of reality saying you can't possibly complete all the tasks on your "need to do it" list, I challenge you to stop, listen, and ask yourself, "What's on fire here?" And then do those things, and postpone the rest.

"A major part of successful living lies in the ability to put first things first. Indeed, the reason most major goals are not achieved is that we spend our time doing second things first." Robert J. McKain, author, nationality and dates unknown.

Building Science: The Next Generation Of Home Improvement And New Construction

Building Science: The Next Generation Of Home Improvement And New Construction

In a landmark survey by Cahners Residential Group in 2004, ninety-one percent of homebuyers said that energy-efficient features in a home were extremely or very important to them. The demand for old and new homes that use less energy continues to grow from a niche market into an emerging segment of the mainstream residential building and remodeling industry.

Now traditional contractors and builders can apply scientific techniques to create more energy efficient homes that provide greater comfort, durability, health and safety. Best of all, they can do it in a practical and affordable way using building performance technologies and techniques. This means looking at how all the components of the house work together including the thermal shell, heating and cooling equipment, ventilation, windows and doors, and appliances.

For those contractors who have already embraced the building science philosophy, there's always more to learn. The industry is constantly evolving with more technologies and best practices shared among building science professionals. Thanks to ACI's national and regional conferences and an expanding range of training and education initiatives, contractors and builders across the country are being trained to employ a "whole-house" systems approach to new construction and home improvement. That means more customers are getting a better overall home environment when builders and contractors incorporate comprehensive measures to address comfort, health and safety, durability, and energy efficiency.

Improving the performance of existing homes

Contractors nationwide are being trained and accredited in building performance, the systematic approach to improving the indoor environment by applying improvements to the whole house, not just a part of it. These contractors use performance diagnostics to evaluate the condition of a home and verify the impact of improvements. Blower door tests for building shell leakage, combustion safety tests, duct leakage diagnostics, and infrared thermal imaging are examples of diagnostic tests provided by building performance contractors to help ensure the health, safety, comfort, and durability of a home before and after improvements. Once the initial assessment is complete, the contractor will recommend how to remedy any problems they found, and can complete the recommended work for the homeowner. The end result for customers is lower energy bills and improved comfort and safety.

Building performance techniques benefit contractors as well by differentiating themselves in the marketplace. Contractors who use these comprehensive testing and installation techniques to treat the house as a system can distinguish their businesses from traditional contractors by providing their customers better, more informed solutions to common house problems, including high energy costs, uneven temperatures from room to room, moisture and air quality issues, as well as maintenance and durability. Some contractors may have access to energy efficiency programs, including Home Performance with ENERGY STAR and ENERGY STAR Qualified New Homes sponsored by local utilities and state agencies that offer technical training, certification assistance, marketing support and even financial incentives including low-interest financing, cash back, and tax credits for customers investing in recommended, eligible energy efficiency improvements.

Exceeding minimum building standards

For new construction, builders can achieve substantial energy savings through Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and ENERGY STAR Qualified Home standards.

The LEED Green Building Rating System is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. LEED provides a complete framework for assessing building performance and meeting sustainability goals. Based on well-founded scientific standards, LEED emphasizes state of the art strategies for sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. LEED recognizes achievements and promotes expertise in green building through a comprehensive system offering project certification, professional accreditation, training and practical resources.

Newly built homes that earn the ENERGY STAR must meet guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). ENERGY STAR Qualified New Homes are at least 15 percent more energy efficient than homes built to the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). ENERGY STAR qualified homes can include a variety of energy-efficient features, such as effective insulation, high performance windows and doors, well-sealed and insulated duct systems, efficient heating and cooling equipment, and ENERGY STAR qualified lighting and appliances. These features contribute to improved home quality and homeowner comfort, and to lower energy demand and reduced air pollution.

In addition to offering a high quality product to consumers, builders of energy efficient homes are eligible for a $2,000 federal tax credit under the Energy Policy Act of 2005. A new energy efficient home must achieve 50 percent energy savings for heating and cooling over the 2004 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). At least one-fifth of the energy savings must come from building envelope improvements.

A bright future

As the demand for high quality, efficient homes gains momentum, more contractors and builders will look to building performance to add value to conventional homes, setting a new standard in the residential new construction and home improvement industries and empowering their customers to make better choices for themselves, the economy and the environment.
